Peter Godfrey Bequest: the development of the Aireys Inlet Clifftop Walk brochure is complete and printing has been commissioned.

Separate to the bequest, a flora brochure has also been developed and is ready for printing.

Propagation members are providing advice and assistance to Torquay College regarding maintenance of their native gardens.

Several committee and weeding group members met Michelle Anstee, the new local Parks Vic manager, to discuss walking and mountain bike cycling track development and maintenance issues at Eumeralla. A further meeting is planned to discuss Parks Vic work priorities so we can better co-ordinate activities.

There is increasing pressure for the development of more mountain bike trails throughout the Surf Coast region and the Surf Coast Shire has identified mountain bike trails in the Anglesea area as a request for funding in the federal election campaign. Angair supports bike riding as a healthy outdoor sport. Angair is encouraging sustainable use of our crown land vegetated areas. We need to ensure that any track development is approved, not impacting on vegetation communities, not contributing to disease spread or soil erosion and properly maintained and monitored. Many of these tracks are for joint use, cycling and walking.
