GUEST SPEAKER: Matt Montemurro,
Education Outreach Coordinator,
Marine Mammal Foundation

Matt will tell us about the research, education and conservation programs undertaken by the Marine Mammal Foundation, highlighting marine mammal diversity in Victoria.

  • His presentation will -
    Discuss the MMF’s Project Burrunan focussed on the Burrunan dolphin Tursiops australis, and the work of MMF Founding Director Dr Kate Robb to describe this new species endemic to southern Australia.
  • Explain how the MMF’s research is utilised in the conservation of marine environments.
  • Highlight the anthropogenic threats harming marine mammals and their environments, and how we can all make a positive difference.
