While the very dry summer has been hard on local gardens, the plants at the propagation unit are thriving with the help of the automatic watering system. We will have good numbers of good-looking plants in time for the members’ open day and the Easter Sunday Riverbank Market next month.
However, the rarer plants—many of which we have been only marginally successful in propagating before—are much fewer in number. So we have decided to put quotas on those beauties so that more members get a chance to buy them. The quotas may vary, depending on the species, but will be clearly labelled on the open day from 10 am to noon on Sunday April 7 at the propagation unit.
If you can’t make the open day, we’ll be at the Riverbank Market on Sunday April 21 from 9 am to 3 pm. In the meantime, keep hoping for good rain.
