Every year, Angair holds a camping weekend away in a special, natural area with beautiful walks nearby.

Fifteen Angair walkers enjoyed the weekend of November 23/24,  camping at Stevenson’s Falls in the Otways, or staying at nearby Forrest.  We walked to Stevenson’s Falls and back in the morning, through Otways forest, noticing large numbers of white flowering daisy bushes, Snowy Daisy-bush Olearia lirata and Musk Daisy-bush Olearia argophylla. The hillsides, too, were sometimes completely covered in white, mostly with Tree Everlasting Ozothamnus ferruginous.

In the afternoon, we walked around Lake Elizabeth looking for the elusive platypus (who did not show himself of course).

The weather was spectacular and the company and food were terrific.

A special Honourable Mention goes to Kenneth and Allison Ralph, first time campers on our annual weekend away, who covered themselves in glory by arriving early, securing us a large site and sharing their excellent appetisers and muffins! We’re looking forward to next year already and all are welcome.
