We chose Coogoorah Park because it is close and we can’t car pool at the moment. It was a glorious, if cold morning with beautiful reflections but rather quiet in bird land.

Many of the regulars weren’t around and we had to really work to find 30 species.
The highlight was a Crested Shrike-tit in the bushy section near the river. Unusually it appeared to be on its own and it moved on very quickly. While we were at morning tea doing the bird count a flock of Brown-headed Honeyeaters mixed with White-naped Honeyeaters came to feed in a tree close by so that rounded out the morning nicely.
The resident Great Cormorant reminding us to keep this far apart at morning tea. Its wingspan is 1500mm.
